Centrifugal Degasser
Degasser Overview
Elgin’s turn-key centrifugal degasser solution solves actual problems operators face when working with drilling fluids. Functioning as a combination centrifugal pump and centrifuge, the degasser removes the entrained gas from the fluid prior to being returned into operation. The fluid is pumped into the degasser and spread into a thin layer and subjected to centrifugal force. This increases the buoyant force on the tiny gas bubbles as they migrate to the center of rotation. When they reach the surface of the mud, they pop and become free gas.
Degasser Features
- Accepts any drilling fluid weight or viscosity.
- Simple operation with low maintenance costs.
- In-tank alternative to traditional vacuum degasser installations.
- Minimizes the risk of dangerous blowouts.
- Removes entrained gasses, including H2S and corrosive oxygen.
